Lunch and Learn: The Moon: Looking Back and Looking Forward

October 30, 2019 @ 11:00 am - 12:30 pm

Join the AIAA Houston Section for a Lunch and Learn on October 30, 11am-12:30 pm.

Gilruth Center, Lone Star Room (Due to the overwhelming response, the location has changed)

Free event. Bring your own lunch or enjoy a sandwich on us.

Fifty years after the historic first landing of human explorers on the Moon, NASA astronaut and planetary scientist Dr. Stanley G. Love will review the motivations and accomplishments of the Apollo program, present an overview of NASA’s plans to return human explorers to the Moon’s surface in the next few years, and discuss what those explorers might do there after they land and plant the flag. Despite an impression that we’ve “been there and done that” with regard to our nearest celestial neighbor, the Moon offers much more than opportunities to build national prestige. It is a treasure trove of scientific and economic riches that we’ve only just begun to open. We hope you can join the discussion and learn about the amazing future that awaits us on the Moon
